King Salman Centre for International Peace (KSCIP) Meeting

12 April 2017- Meeting between Malaysia and Saudi Arabia regarding the establishment of King Salman Centre for International Peace (KSCIP) was held at Ministry of Defence on 12th April 2017. The meeting was co-chaired by Minister of Defense, the Honorable Dato' Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein (Malaysia) and HE Sheikh Dr Mohamed Abdul Kareem Al Issa, the Secretary General of the Muslim World League to discuss further about development of the establishment KSCIP. The KSCIP is planned to be officially launched in the middle of Ramadhan this year.

Visit by Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC)

24 May 2017 -  On 24th May 2017, delegation from Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) visited MiDAS. The delegation headed by Lieutenant General Abdulelah Bin Othman Alsaleh was received by Ms Siti Salmiah Binti Haji Dimyati, Senior Director of CDSRC.  The briefing deliberated on the establishment of King Salman Centre for International Peace (KSCIP) besides MiDAS roles and tasks. It generated a healthy question and answer session. The visit ended with exchange of memento.

Visit by National Defence College Course of Nigeria

25 May 2017 - MiDAS is honoured to receive a visit from the National Defence College Course of Nigeria on 25th May 2017 which were led by Rear Admiral Samuel Ilesanmi Alade. The delegation was received by Senior Director of MBOSC Brig Gen Toh Choon Siang. The delegation was briefed on the conducts of research and analysis on policies related to defence and security, and National Blue Ocean Strategy initiatives coordinate by Ministry of Defence Malaysia. The visit ended with exchange of memento.

Courtesy Call by Dep Secretary Strategic Policy and Intelligence Dept of Defence Australia

5 July 2017- Ms Rebecca Skinner, Deputy Secretary Strategic Policy and Intelligence Department of Defence Australia made a courtesy call to MiDAS.  She and her delegation were received by Lt Gen Dato’ Suhaimi Bin Hj Mohd Zuki, Chief Executive of MiDAS.  Subsequently, the Australia Delegation were hosted to a roundtable discussion chaired by Chief Executive of MiDAS that includes numerous officers of MiDAS. The delegation were also given an insight into MiDAS organization, activities and its function as a think tank for MinDef. As a token of appreciation Chief Executive of MiDAS presented her with MiDAS's publication.
