9^thJune 2022 Malaysian Institute of Defence and Security (MiDAS) headed by Capt. Tay Yap Leong RMN, Director of Maritime Security received a visit from Snr Col Zhang Ge, Defence Attaché and Lt. Col. Zhao Bin, Assistant Defence Attaché from Embassy of the People's Republic of China (PRC) on 9 June 2022.

The embassy defence office avails itself of the opportunity for mutual cooperation in the area of defence and security. Discussion consist of the posibility of a defence senior official from the PRC to give a talk during MiDAS upcoming event this year and establishing mutual think tank to think tank relationship. It is hope that the relationship will take the existing defence cooperation between both country to the next level.
The visit ended with an exchange of momentos between Capt Tay Yap Leong RMN and Snr Col Zhang Ge.
