17^th January 2024 -The National Institute of Defence and Security (NIDS), Japan, visited MiDAS on 17 January 2024.

Dr SHOJI Tomotaka headed the delegation and made a courtesy call to YBhg Mej Gen Dato' Hj Ya'con bin Hj Samiran, Chief Executive of MiDAS.

Both sides discussed possible future collaborations. A roundtable discussion was also held; among the topics discussed were Japan-ASEAN Security Cooperation, issues in the South China Sea and the Great Powers Rivalries. Officers from the Ministry of Defence and the Malaysian Armed Forces also attended the roundtable session.
