6^th February 2024 -Malaysian Institute of Defence and Security (MiDAS) received a visit from Mr Benjamin Blandin a PhD student at the Catholic University of Paris and an independent researcher

The visit started with a courtesy call on Major General Dato' Hj. Ya'cob Bin Hj Samiran, Chief Executive of MiDAS, signing of the MiDAS visitor book, and a photo session. Following the courtesy call a roundtable discussion was held led by Captain Hazlan Hazumi RMN, Director of Maritime Security in MiDAS.

The focus of the discussion is on asymmetric threat in South China Sea and how each littoral states are responding in term of action taken, propaganda spinned as well as increasing capabilities. The discussion ended with a sharing of future activities pertaining to South China Sea that are in the pipeline and possible cooperation.
