08 November 2016 - MiDAS Talk Series 14/2016 titled "Malaysia in Facing the Triangle of Conflict in Southeast Asia" was successfully organized by the Malaysian Institute of Defence and Security (MiDAS) on the 8th November 2016, at Wisma Perwira Angkatan Tentera Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. The Talk was delivered by Mr. Ahmad El-Muhammady, lecturer at the Centre for Foundation Studies, International Islamic University Malaysia and also a Senior Fellow at the Malaysian Islamic Strategic Research Institute (IKSIM) was the guest speaker. He deliberated and gave an insight into terrorism / militancy activities in the region. He highlighted the challenges facing Malaysia, being situated at the heart of the region surrounded by conflicts in Southern Thailand, Southern Philippines, militancy in Indonesia and rotential racial conflict in Myanmar. The event was attended by the MiDAS Board of Governors, Senior Civil and Military Officials as well as other security and enforcement agencies and the member of media.
