19th October 2023 -Malaysian Institute of Defence and Security (MiDAS) officer Ms Nor Aini Mohd Nordin, Assistant Director of Maritime Security was invited to be the discussant to Associate Professor Dr Kei Koga from Public Policy and Global Affairs Programme, School of Social Sciences, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) during the Selected Group Discussion.
The topic was on Session 3: The ‘ASEAN Way’ on Conflict Management: A Need for Revision? In attendance from MiDAS was Captain Hazlan Hazumi RMN, Director of Maritime Security. The selected group discussion was held at the Intercontinental Hotel Kuala Lumpur a day after the Indo-Pacific Ocean Governance: Roundtable on Conflict De-escalation in the Indo-Pacific: Southeast Asian States’ Perspectives hosted by the Maritime Institute of Malaysia (MIMA) with the support of the Australian High Commission in Malaysia and the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia.
The selected group discussion was participated by the Roundtable pannelist, high-level government officers, distinguished scholars, and think tankers from Malaysia to discuss Session 3 theme of the Roundtable and to propose policy recommendations based on the outcomes of the Roundtable discussion.
