On 3 July 2024, Brig Gen Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Alirupendi bin Haji Perudin (Retired), Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defense of Brunei Darussalam, had a courtesy call with Maj Gen Dato' Hj Ya'cob bin Hj Samiran, the Chief Executive of Malaysian Institute of Defence and Security (MiDAS).
