On September 2, 2024, the Malaysian Institute of Defence and Security (MiDAS) welcomed a delegation from the National Defence University Malaysia (NDUM), comprising 36 members led by Dr. Wong Choi Ye. This visit marked a significant opportunity for collaboration and knowledge exchange between the two esteemed institutions.
The visit began with a formal courtesy call on the Chief Executive of MiDAS, Major General Dato' Hj Ya'cob bin Hj Samiran. During this introductory meeting, the delegation was briefed on the mission and strategic objectives of MiDAS, laying the groundwork for the day's activities.
Following the courtesy call, Commander Mohd Husyairi bin Mohd Ramli RMN delivered a comprehensive briefing about MiDAS. The briefing, chaired by Ms. Nor Aini bin Nordin, provided insights into the institute's role in advancing defense and security research and training. This session was instrumental in fostering a deeper understanding of MiDAS’s contributions to national security.
A key segment of the visit was the interactive Q&A session, where NDUM students actively engaged with MiDAS personnel. The questions posed by the students were answered thoroughly by MiDAS officers, demonstrating a high level of expertise and fostering an informative dialogue between the two groups.
