Brig Gen Zainudin bin Bahari as Head of Delegation (HOD) and Col Dr. Samhasri bin Samah from Malaysia Institute of Defence and Security (MiDAS) represented Malaysia in the Track II Network of ASEAN Defence and Security Institutions (NADI) meeting in Siem Reap, Cambodia from 18-21 September 2024.

The Track II meeting discussed the emerging security architecture in the Asia-Pacific, assessed its implications, and provided recommendations for ASEAN nations.

The meeting officially begun with an opening remark by Lt Gen Nem Sowathey, Director of Policy and Foreign Affairs of Cambodia's GDPFA.

In the first session, all the delegations presented their insightful perspectives to strengthen security partnerships emerging between ASEAN countries.

During the second session, all delegations shared their experiences in addressing issues such as AI technology applications and cybersecurity.

In the end, all delegations visited popular attractions in Siem Reap such as Angkor Wat temple complex. This joint experience could further strengthen defence cooperation among ASEAN countries.

Such an event is hopefully to further strengthen the ties between the ASEAN members' nations especially on the common security agenda that are furthered nurtured for the stability and peace of ASEAN region.
