On 22 October 2024, MiDAS received a visit from the China Academy of Military Sciences (AMS). Sr Col Cao Yanzhong led this delegation of 10 officers, which included officers from the Defense Attache from the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia. 

This visit began with a courtesy call on YBhg Maj Gen Dato' Hj Ya'cob bin Hj Samiran, the Chief Executive of MiDAS. Next, the two sides discussed Malaysia-China defense relations, security issues in the Southeast Asian region, and cooperation between MiDAS and AMS in the future. Both sides agreed that a good working relationship should continue to improve Malaysia-China defence diplomacy.
