KUALA LUMPUR, March 17, 2025 - YBhg. Lt Gen Dato’ Seri Hj Muhammad Huzaimi bin Sabri, Chief Executive of MiDAS, received a courtesy visit from Col Corey Shillabeer, Defence Advisor, Defence Section, Australian High Commission Kuala Lumpur at his office in MiDAS.

This courtesy visit was aimed to further strengthen the cordial relationship between the two countries. Additionally, the meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to engage in discussions and exchange of views on collaboration opportunities between MiDAS and comparable institutes in Australia.

Both parties concurred on the need to explore potential joint initiatives in the development of defence and security cooperation. Discussions also revolved around the current engagements between both countries.

The discussions were also attended by MiDAS Senior Director of Comprehensive Defence. BrigGen Isa bin Daud, MiDAS Director of Comparative Technology, Col Kieron Singh RMAF, and First Secretary Defence Australian High Commission, Ms Jessica Baigent.

Overall, the engagement has the potential to serve as a platform in strengthening the collaboration between both countries, thus paving the way for future strategic partnerships. Furthermore, the meeting provided an avenue for the exchange of insights and new proposals on regional security and defence engagements, particularly in addressing emerging threats.
