MiDAS intents to become the centre of excellence for research and knowledge sharing on the issues pertaining to defence and security. To achieve this goal, MiDAS will :

  • Conduct research and analysis on policies related to Defence and Security.
  • Generate thinking, debates and knowledge sharing through defence and security seminars either national or international level and dialogues concerning defence and security issues.
  • Disseminate research findings through The Journal of Defence and Security, magazine, monograph and seminar proceedings.
  • Collate and study research from other research institutions and higher learning centres holistically through networking with those institution.
  • Develop resource centres for Malaysian Armed Forces and Ministry of Defence.
  • Explore new research areas with cooperation from other national or international research institutes.
